Financing Your Degree at Southern
Here at Southern, we’ve worked hard to make grad school as affordable as possible.
A variety of tuition assistance resources are available to help students like you, including all of the options we referenced in the previous section. With budgeting choices, graduate assistantships, and monthly payment plans, your graduate degree is more accessible than you think.
This is what an estimated budget for a typical semester might look like:

These numbers are based on a full-time load of 9 hours:
- Master’s-level tuition for 2024-2025 is $760 per credit hour.
- Doctorate-level tuition is $980 per credit hour.
Tuition for the BS-DNP program will be charged at the master’s or doctoral rate based on the course level:
- 500-level and 600-level courses = master’s tuition
- 700-level and 800-level courses = doctoral tuition
38% of graduate students have taken out loans for the current school year. This is down 12% from the prior year.
