MSW/MBA Dual Degree

On the MBA side of the program, you’ll learn about finance, marketing, accounting, and management—everything that will help you on the business side of social work, such as leading a team or managing a nonprofit.

In the MSW courses, you’ll learn about mental health advocacy, crisis management, human behavior, and psychology. The MSW/MBA dual-degree option will emphasize both areas. Our graduates continue to share how both perspectives have helped them succeed as professionals.

You could follow a wide range of career choices with an MSW/MBA to your name, and of course, earning a dual degree will likely increase your earning potential. Your actual salary range will vary depending on which field you enter, but on average, you can expect to earn approximately $100,000 per year.

These courses, which are offered on a rotational basis, could include options such as Legal Framework of Decisions, Managerial Economics, and Human Resource Management.

Eligibility Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited program, with coursework indicating a strong liberal arts background. (Advanced placement requires a Bachelor of Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited program.)
• GPA requirement: Possess a preferred GPA of at least 2.75 (on a 4.00 scale) for the last 60 college credits earned at the baccalaureate level for Foundation standing. For Advanced standing, applicants must possess a preferred GPA of at least 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) in social work courses. Applicants may have no more than one grade of C in a core social work course.

Prospective students for the MSW/MBA programs must meet the eligibility requirements for both the MSW and MBA.

Students with a non-business bachelor’s degree will likely need six hours of prerequisites (3 hours of ACCT 505 and 3 hours of FNCE 505).
